Today I HAVE to share this DIY I came across. I woke up at like 4am & ended up coming across this blog. I have never read it before, so I assume my 4am wakeup call was a preordination for me to find this post (I don’t think that’s a word, but hey it works). I know some of you have gorgeous scarves & a sweatshirt or two (million) sitting around. If you have basic sewing skills (or a friend or relative who is), you’ve gotta try this!
This phenom took this:
And made THIS!!!!
So obviously, none of these pics are mine. I just had to share them because she absolutely inspired me! Now I gotta go get some scarves & coordinating sweatshirts. And who can’t use an excuse to buy more of either?! lol Anyway, I hope this DIY has inspired you to make one, have someone make you one, or go on the hunt for one like it. Oh yeah, I’ve linked the pics to her post & if you have problems getting it to work, here’s her link:

inHi ladies!
Not to sound arrogant, but I’m always hearing “I love your outfit, especially your jewelry!” It’s almost always followed by the same question. “How did you know to put those pieces together?” Or, “I wish I could put together outfits in my closet like that.” I always reply, “YOU CAN!” It just takes a little time, patience & imagination.
We as women know that when you find something great, share it with your friends!! So as I share my techniques with you, promise to share it with your friends. Or better yet, show them! When they see you with your revamped, “new” wardrobe, they’ll want to know how you did it!
I remember school shopping with my parents & having to put on a “Fashion Show” using all the items I’d just gotten. Even though it seemed to be the most unnecessary practice, I can now see its benefit. You get to see the colors in real lighting (store lighting is horribly deceptive) & you get to toss on accessories to see how it’ll really work for you!
So I’ve compiled some looks that are great for any lady at any stage. I’ve found this lady who does the BEST videos on outfits for curvy girls (yes, I am one) but they are global looks so they’ll work for anyone. If you love her ideas like I do, like her videos & subscribe. Tell her The Jewelry Lady send you!
Ok, so on to the good stuff. To make it easier to browse, I’ve listed sites & links here for your enjoyment. So by using these along with my Wardrobe Test will ensure you have a vibrant, functional wardrobe all year long!
Great work outfit ideas…
It’s really chilly here, so these are great ways to modify your cape…
This one is great, but I must make one note. Do not wear a sheer shirt to work! Showing your bra is not cool. Throw a cami underneath & you’re good to go! Without further ado…
Great tips for wearing jackets…
Great ways to wear blazers…
Finally, rock that denim vest…
Thanks for hanging out & I’ll be back with more shares soon!

inSay it with me:
Happy closet…
Sad closet…
I think you get the idea. So let’s do something about it. You want more space in your closet. (probably to fill it up again, but that’s not what I’m focusing on! lol) No judgement. Anyway, even if you want to clean your closet out to go shopping again or if you want to make it look prettier, you need a plan of action. Don’t just jump in, get frustrated & give up. It could end up looking worse than when you started! So here are a few tips & tricks that will help you clean out. I’ll post some more ideas on how to make your closet pretty soon, so be on the lookout! Here are some items to consider tossing:
That’s right! Anything too tight, too revealing or some outdated fashion fad (that never should have existed) is a good candidate to toss. Here are some tips to make room for your fall clothes:
1. Cut down your closet by 25% by asking yourself this one question: “If I were shopping right this second, would I buy this?” If the answer’s no, out it goes.
2. If you have a small closet, never keep your shoes in clunky shoe boxes. Instead, line up them on the floor or use a tension rod. Line them up side by side with the heel of one shoe next to the toe of the next & save even more space!
3. Don’t buy items you know you won’t properly care for. For example, if you know you’re never going to hand-wash that delicate cami or beaded sweater, don’t buy it.
4. Have an item you need to part with but don’t know how to let it go? Give it to a friend who always eyed it! Gifting items is a great way to part with a loved item.
5. Swap with a friend or group of friends! Include clothing, jewelry, handbags & other accessories. Then exchange info on sales & deals & make a girl’s night out of it!
6. Donate to a women’s shelter or homeless shelter.
7. Donate to a local school. Most schools have a clothes pantry.
8. Repurpose sweaters as throw pillow covers, upcycle tees and tanks into maxi dresses or handbags, turn a sweatshirt into a cardigan. Need ideas? Type “upcycle clothing” into any search engine.
9. Is it beyond repair? Consider using it as a dusting rag!
10. Host your own giveaway! Use Craigslist or Facebook to advertise it & let people come take what they need. You don’t have to do it at your house, either. Utilize a local park, ask a church to allow you to use their space, or find a free meeting room (like at Deep Roots) and “give” away!
Here’s a video on how to make the most out of really tight spaces. Even if your space isn’t small, you can still optimize the space you have! Then after the video, there are some fashion staples that will make updating your look easy.
Here’s the link to the video to cut/paste in case the picture link doesn’t work:
